One of the biggest terms of 2020 has been ‘micro weddings’. Micro weddings are intimate weddings with the same traditional wedding details, however, the guest count is much lower. Micro weddings are a new way for couples to host beautiful weddings but on a smaller scale. While this is a new type of wedding, these celebrations still allow couples to have a full traditional wedding, just on a smaller scale.
To showcase the endless possibilities of styles and settings of micro weddings, we planned a European-inspired micro wedding styled shoot.

Social Distance Wedding in Florida
When selecting the perfect venue to host our European inspired micro wedding, we chose Mission Inn Resort & Club. We chose this wedding venue for this styled shoot because of their stunning Spanish Colonial style architecture and unique venue spaces.
Mission Inn Resort offers over five different locations for weddings and gatherings, large or small. The endless Spanish influences made it the perfect location for our styled shoot. From their red clay roof tiles to quaint courtyards, this hotel gives guests a little piece of Spain right in the heart of Howey-in-the-Hills.
Ceremony Details at European Inspired Micro Wedding
Our styled shoot began with a floral-filled ceremony in their Spanish courtyard space. Like all wedding ceremonies, micro weddings are also set and dressed with decor and seating for invited guests. This European inspired micro wedding featured freestanding wood castle doors adorned in flowers as the ceremony backdrop paired with socially distanced wooden chairs for the guests. Flowers by Leslie completed the design with greenery and flower arrangements for the aisle.
Reception Details at European Inspired Micro Wedding Wedding
Like all weddings, micro weddings also have receptions and a cake cutting ceremony. The fountain became the center for the reception tables to help guests maintain their social distance. This allows newlyweds to host the reception they’ve always wanted while also keeping their guests safe. Although this is a styled shoot, this is a great way for real couples to host a full reception and classic sit down dinner.
In addition to the decor details, the bride’s fashion was also a way to showcase the shoot’s inspiration. Solutions Bridal Designer House in Orlando selected a silk off-the-shoulder neckline dress with a side slit by Alon Livne and drop earrings. Her look was completed with a sun hat for an effortless, Southern European summertime reception look. Her bridesmaids wore warm-toned velvet dresses, which served as the perfect accent color to the floral and overall wedding design.

Although this was a styled shoot, this wedding illustrates one of the many ways a couple can host a socially distanced micro wedding and still have all of the traditional wedding elements.
